Q1 - How did your childhood influence your work ethic and attitude towards
My parents both were entrepreneurs and my dad was a typical workaholic. I grew up
knowing that I can be successful, if I work hard for it and that everything is always
possible. Next to that my parents made sure that I always abide to the law (e.g. not
paying staff illegally which happens often in the gastronomy and hospitality industry)
and that the ethics of a good heart are more important than our earnings.
Q2 - What do you believe the principles of a successful business are today?
One clear and straight concept and a motivated team are key to success.
Q3 - Looking back, what was your best business decision?
Keeping our concept clear and straight and not hopping onto every trend that came
along our 26 years of business. Our guests love what we do, it is a winning system
and will always stay our reason of existence.
Q4 - Who has influenced you the most through your career?
My university (Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne), my mother and our hotel director and
my own intuition.
Q5 - What was your most difficult / worst business decision?
Not focusing on our core competence in our marketing campaigns because we
wanted to present what's new. However, presenting small side programs and taking
away focus of the main concept is too time consuming and does not pay off the
Q6 - What would you say was the single most advantageous character trait for
A desire to shift something in the world. From that comes all the power you need to
move forward and also to inspire others to help you do so.
Q7 - What happens when you’re stressed or overwhelmed?
My neck starts hurting and I do not allow myself to have relaxing time. When I am
very stressed I try to get work done basically every minute I am awake which in the
end increases the feeling of being overwhelmed and pushed to the limit.
Q8 - How do you invest in your own wellbeing. How do you look after yourself?
I meditate daily and since I am a trained Yoga Teacher and Ayurveda Lifestyle Coach
I know exactly how to bring myself down again quickly, physically and mentally. I also have many routines I do not neglect even when I am stressed, as I know they save me in terms of holding up my high energy to accomplish all that I put on my list. Number one is my diet, number two good sleep and number three meditation.
Q9 - If you could change one thing about the spa and wellness industry what would it be and why?
I cannot think of anything now.
Q10 - Finally, What’s your favourite quote or the best advice you’ve ever been given?
"BE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE IN THE WORLD" is my favourite quote since
I was a teenager. I think we should all live a healthy lifestyle and be the best person
we can be in order to make the world a better place.

I have many, e.g. „On death and dying“ by Elisabeth Kübler-Ross and all books of Brian Weiss.

My father who died last year.
4. You get taken to your favourite place to be, where are you taken?
Nirvana, which would be more or less a "place“ inside of my own consciousness
5. Your perfect dinner is?
Sweet potato slices (out of the oven) with salt, thyme and curry powder.
6. Your go to drink is?
Roibush tea with oat milk, I have a litre of it every day since years.
7. Your favourite sweet treat is?
8. What’s your favourite essential oil / scent?
Siddhartha oil from Dorissima
9. You go for a treatment - what do you have and why?
I get an Abhyanga Shirodhara to sooth my Vata and calm me down and when I have backpain I get a Kati Basti (oil bath on my lower back) for many days in a row and the pain goes away.
10.What’s your favourite flower?
Pink Clove flowers
11.You want to sleep deeply, what do you do?
Ask my fiancé to give me a foot massage with oil, it works wonders to shut down a whirling mind.
12.You want to energise fast, what do you do?
Laughter Yoga or Yogic breathing techniques.
13.The theme tune to your life is?
The circle of life, Elton John.
14.What makes you laugh to your belly?
Funny animal videos.
15.What’s your favourite season?
Summer for sure.
16. What’s your favourite colour?
Gold and white
17. Your favourite time of day is?
18. If you could have been anyone or anything else, what / who would you be?
I would be Carina again.
19. What’s your current TV guilty secret?
I do not watch TV and do not have a TV and I do not have Netflix either. I read books or do online courses or listen to podcasts to learn and grow. What takes too much of my attention sometimes is instagram.
20. Magic dust - you can learn one new skill instantly, what is it?
To dance Salsa and Belly Dance like a pro.
