Q1. How did your childhood influence your work ethic and attitude towards business?
I was raised by my grandmother and Auntie , both very strong women and extremely hard working. They independently ran a string of ladies bowling clubs and from a very young age they had me on the committee as chief tea cup collector /head of raffle ticket sales. Through the years their empire grew and I always admired their ambition to succeed and grow something they believed in.

Q3. Looking back what was your best decision? 
Opening my own beauty salon when I was 18.
Q4.Who has influenced you most through your career?
Noella Gabriella Co Founder from Elemis.
Q5. What was your most difficult/worst business decision?
I don’t have one, I don’t look back and believe you learn from mistakes.
Q6.What would you say was the single most advantageous character trait for success?
Q7. What happened when you are stressed or overwhelmed? 
I usually grab my skipping rope or go out for a run but sometimes a nice glass of red wine can do the trick! Depends on the day I guess?
Q8. How do you invest in your own wellbeing. How do you look after yourself?
I invest in time, time with the people I care for most and make me happy.  
Q9.If you could change one thing about the spa and wellness industry what would it be and why?
For suppliers and operators to have more focus on their own workforces and business environments.  In order to practice real wellness it has to grow from the roots.

Home , there is no place like it in the world!
5.Your perfect dinner is ? 
Always when I’m not the one cooking it!
6.Your perfect drink is? 
Anything from Camellias tea house London
7. Your favourite sweet treat is? 
Ferrero Rocher but I mostly prefer savoury treats.
8. What is your favourite essential oil /scent? 
Anything with the scent of Coconut , it reminds me of holidays.
9. You want to sleep deeply what do you do?
Cuddle up to my cat called Tony and listen to him purr.
10. You want to energise fast what do you do?
Cold tea spoons on the eyes/temples and get some fresh air.
11.The theme tune to your life is ? 
With 3 boys in the house it sometimes feels like Sky Sports but in reality its Rumours Album Fleetwood Mac.
12. What makes you laugh to your belly? 
My husband when he’s telling stories.
13. What is your favourite season?
Autumn, I get totally mesmerised by all the different colours. It’s like natures last minute surprise before winter sets in.

With a prestigious industry background, Kay has been working in the beauty and spa industry for over 20 years, having opened her own salon at the age of 18. She then went on to work within a luxury hotel brand, premium airline and then directly with a vast network of premium salons and spa destinations across the UK.  Kay brings a wealth of experience with her to her role at Aqua Sana .

She joined Aqua Sana as Group Spa Manager in March 2016, and is responsible for
the management of the five spa sites across the UK; Sherwood Forest, Elveden Forest, Longleat Forest, Whinfell Forest and Woburn Forest. She has played a key role in the redesign of the Sherwood Forest spa and is passionate about spa, beauty and the wellness sector.
